This safari covers two of the premier parks in Zambia and ends off on the majestic Lake Malawi.
The Lower Zambezi National Park where Anabezi is situated, is a key national park of Zambia, lies between the rugged and dramatic Zambezi escarpment and the wide and spectacular Zambezi River. There are many channels, lagoons, sandbanks and islands along the river and then open plains, woodland and bush areas behind the riverine strip.
The unspoiled South Luangwa National Park is one of natural jewels in Zambia’s crown, and home to one of the most varied collections of wildlife on the planet. The park is centred around the Luangwa River. The ox bow lagoons, woodland and plains of the valley host huge concentrations of game – including elephant, buffalo, leopard, lion, giraffe, hippo – and over 450 species of birds. Nsefu is situated in a prime area in the park, the exclusive Nsefu sector.
Pumulani Lodge is the final stop on the Land & Water safari and is located on the Nankumba Peninsula, recognized as one of the most picturesque part of Lake Malawi, within the Lake Malawi National Park which is home to hundreds of fish species, including the colourful cichlids.

Itinerary:

Day 1:
On arrival at Lusaka International Airport a Robin Pope Safaris representative will meet you and assist you onto your flight to Jeki Airstrip for Anabezi. Anabezi is found at the lower end of the Zambezi National Park, exclusively located offering relaxing and serene isolation. With its unique location, Anabezi offers diverse wildlife sightings. Many yellow corn pods drop from the surrounding Ana Trees attracting a diversity of animals from the higher land to feed during the dry months.

ANABEZI – Day 2-4
You have three full days to enjoy the mighty Zambezi River experience. Lower Zambezi is great for water-based activities that include canoeing, boating and fishing with game drives and walking as a bonus, for you to choose from. You therefore have a full range of activities on offer for these two days; the choice is all yours. Tiger fishing (on a catch and release basis) is a must for keen fishermen.

ANABEZI – Day 5:
Today you will head off to Zambia’s premier safari destination, the renowned South Luangwa National Park. Transfer will be a flight via Lusaka and onto Mfuwe Airport. At Mfuwe International Airport a guide from Robin Pope Safaris will meet you for transfer to Nsefu. The drive to camp is approximately an1 hour and a half through colourful local scenes of villages, agriculture as well as bush; but may be more depending on what exciting sightings you have along the way.

NSEFU CAMP – Day 6-8:
These are a few days for a chance to drive or walk through the Nsefu Sector. Or you may decide this is an ideal day, depending on the heat and time of year, to explore the National Park. Possibly an all-day picnic drive, day tour to Kawaza village for a cultural experience or a mix of walking and game drives–nothing is set in stone, all will be tailored to your interests.

NSEFU CAMP – Day 9:
After an early breakfast, transfer to Mfuwe Airport for your flight to Lilongwe. The flight time to Lilongwe is approximately 50 minutes. On arrival at Lilongwe’s Kamuzu Airport, you will be met by our team and assist you to your road transfer. Pumulani is situated on the Westside of the Nankumba Peninsula in the South end of Lake Malawi–romantically called “The Lake of Stars”. The ten villas are scattered around the hillside and are individual in shape and style but all have a spacious bedroom, bathroom and extensive sitting area. The front sliding doors open onto the deck–elevated above the ground giving optimal views. The central dining and bar area is high above the lake with the most spectacular views and leads onto an expansive deck. The infinity swimming pool is on a lower terraced deck. The lake shore bar offers light snacks as well as refreshments. The stunning setting of the lodge and the unique comfort of the rooms means that many guests choose to make relaxation their main activity, but there are enough activities available to keep guests busy.

PUMULANI – Day 10:
Enjoy the first full day of relaxation at Pumulani. Our remote beach setting is ideal for those who simply want to soak up the sun and swim in the clear blue waters of the lake. Those who prefer to take a dive in the swimming pool, there is an infinity pool near the central dining area with grand views over the lake, as well as another infinity pool on beach level. Those seeking activity we offer many water sports activities like snorkelling, fishing, kayaking, waterskiing, wake boarding and fun tube rides (motorized activities are excluded).
